 A beautiful, lustrous 90% silver coin (the first year of its issue) enclosed in a 2 3/4" diameter x 1" tall acrylic cylinder with ' GEMINI V - AUG. 21, 1965/ COOPER - CONRAD ' engraved on the bottom.
This 50¢ piece flew in Earth orbit for eight days, August 21-29,1965, with Commander Gordon Cooper and Pilot Pete Conrad on the third manned Gemini mission.
This was an important flight proving that longer missions were feasible, another step in the progression toward the future journeys to the moon.
Beautifully framed measuring approx. 9" x 9" x 1 7/8" deep.
